Following the zoning of the position of Speaker, House of Representatives to the South West, supporters and associates of Hon. Segun Odebunmi ( Surulere/Ogo-Oluwa Federal Constituency) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have appealed to the leadership of the party to consider the third-term legislator for the plum job, Igbere TV reports.
According to Hon. Shina Adedokun, Odebunmi, who is also the Okanlomo of Ogbomoso, is a grassroots politician with political dexterity and legislative experience to lead the 9th session of the green chamber.
Addressing a press conference in Ibadan on Friday, the former Vice- Chairman of Surulere LGA of Oyo state, commended the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and other stakeholders of the party for their spirited efforts in repositioning the APC.
He said, ” in view of the zoning of the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives to the South West, we call on key stakeholders and members of the National Assembly to give Hon. Segun Odebunmi, the opportunity to steer the affairs of the House of Representatives.
“Odebunmi is popular among his colleagues owing to his extra-ordinary leadership qualities.
” He is a compassionate politician, whose interest is to build a good working relationship among the arms of government.
“The candidature of Odebunmi will be warmly welcome by members of the green chamber”.
Adedokun, while calling on the leadership of the APC to give a level playing ground to the contenders for the plum job from the South West, he urged members of the party to sustain their support for the federal legislator.
