BREAKING!!! Guber Poll: PDP Take Over Another State From APC

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, has been declared the winner of the governorship election in the state, Igbere TV reports.

Fintiri was declared the winner by the INEC Returning Officer for the election, Professor Andrew Haruna early Friday morning.

He polled a total of 376,552 votes to defeat incumbent Governor Jibrilla Bindow of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled 336,386 votes.

The vote margin between the two candidates is 40,166.

Igbere TV recalls that Governor-elect Fintiri is a former Acting Governor of the State whose reign remains one of the most short-lived ever in the history of Nigeria politics.

He was speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly in 2014 when the then governor, Murtala Nyako got impeached. With his Deputy, Bala Ngilari having resigned just before the impeachment, Fintiri became acting governor for three months before a by-election took place.

Igbere TV recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared the Adamawa governorship poll inconclusive earlier on.

The lead margin between the PDP and the APC candidates, Igbere TV learnt, was less than the 40,988 votes that were cancelled. The margin was put at 32,476, this led the Returning Officer, Haruna to declare the poll inconclusive and call for a rerun.
