President of Chad, Idriss Deby has fired his Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Seid Mahamat, following a deadly Boko Haram attack that left 23 soldiers dead, Igbere TV can authoritatively report.
Igbere TV gathered that Deby fired the Military Chief along with his two Deputies by Presidential decree.
The attack was said to have been carried out Friday night in the Southwest part of the country.
Igbere TV gathered that the soldiers were killed after coming under attack from jihadists in the early hours of Friday morning.
Friday’s attack is said to be the deadliest on the Chadian military by Boko Haram in the last six years.
Sources told Igbere TV that the attack took place at Dangdala, on the Northeastern bank of Lake Chad.
