The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has rejected the ruling of the Osun State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, Igbere TV can authoritatively report.
Igbere TV had earlier reported that the Tribunal sitting in Abuja, on Friday declared Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the winner of the 2018 governorship election in the state.
Igbere TV recalls that Senator Adeleke had approached the Tribunal after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared APC’s candidate, Governor Gboyega Oyetola as the winner of the election.
Declaring its judgement, the Tribunal held that the APC and its candidate, Oyetola were not validly returned.
Reacting to the ruling, however, the APC through its State Director of Publicity, Kunle Oyatomi, said that the party will appeal the ruling in court.
According to Oyatomi, “the verdict cannot stand superior legal scrutiny. Therefore we will appeal against it.”
A copy of the statement was made available to Igbere TV Friday evening.
