Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has reacted to PDP’s Ademola Adeleke’s victory at the Osun State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, Igbere TV reports.
Igbere TV had earlier reported that the Election Tribunal sitting in Abuja, on Friday declared Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the 2018 governorship election in the state.
Igbere TV recalls that Adeleke had approached the Election Petitions Tribunal after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared APC’s candidate, Governor Gboyega Oyetola as the winner of the election.
Delivering its judgement on Friday, the Tribunal held that the APC and its candidate, Oyetola were not validly returned.
Reacting to the declaration, Atiku Abubakar, who was the candidate of the PDP in the last presidential election, wrote on his Twitter handle;
“Truly, the judiciary is the last hope of the common man and the defender of our democracy. Congratulations Sen. Ademola Adeleke, @IsiakaAdeleke1”.
