Abia 2019: Governorship Candidate Congratulates Ikpeazu, Says "Victory Is For All Abians"

The Governorship candidate of Justice Must Prevail Party (JMPP), in the just concluded 2019 general elections, Chief Charles Okereke, has congratulated the winner of the race in Abia , Dr Ikpeazu, on his landslide victory at the Polls.

Igbere TV reports that Chief Okereke said the election was free and fair.

This is against the backdrop of calls by some opposition parties on INEC to cancel the State’s gubernatorial election.

Briefing journalists at Government House, Umuahia, in company of his state party Chairman, Ifeanyi Mgbemena, Okereke noted that the victory of Governor Ikpeazu is victory for all Abians, hence, the need to join hands with the him, irrespective of party affiliation, to develop the state.

The JMPP Guber candidate further advised opposition parties in the state to sheathe their swords and channel their resources to state development rather than litigations which he said will slow down the wheel of progress and development in Abia state.

In his words,

“We need to join hands with Dr Okezie Ikpeazu in moving the state forward instead of bearing grudges and wasting personal, party and state resources in going to court.

“Our resources this time around should not end up in court but in both human and physical developments of Abia state”, he said.

While commending INEC for the peaceful conduct of the elections in the State, Okereke assured the governor of the support of his party in the onerous but desirable task of developing the state.
