APC Governorship Aspirant Calls for Zoning of Senate President to S/East

Mr. Friday Nwosu, a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2018 primaries held in Abia State, has called on the National Assembly (NASS) and Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the national leader of the APC, to grant the South East the office of the Senate Presidency if inaugurated in June, Igbere Tv reports.

“Now that the zone has not only produced APC senators, but , also, went ahead to give the ruling party over 25 percent votes in three out of the five states from the area, it would be politically wise to zone the senate presidency to the South East,” Mr. Nwosu said while reacting to the outcome of the just concluded 2019 Nigeria elections.

He further said, “As it stands now, the president is from the North, his vice, from the South west; it is, therefore politically expedient that the Senate President position should go to the South East.”

The APC chieftain also hailed the performances of his party in the just concluded 2019 Nigeria general elections held on February 23.

He said he was not surprised that President Buhari won the election, stressing that what the president achieved in just four years could not be achieved in 16 years the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP)was in power.

“President Muhammadu Buhari has demonstrated a lot of patriotism, in his first four years in office,” he said.He also stated that it was good President Buhari be allowed to finish what he started, Igbere Tv reports.
