The Executive Governor of Abia state, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu is currently in early lead in seven local government areas of the state.

According to reports, Ikpeazu who is contesting for his second term in office is currently leading his opponents in Ukwa East, Ukwa West, Ugwunabo, Obingwa, Osisioma, Isialangwa North and Isialangwa South.
