Residents of Abonnema community in the Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, have starts running away from the once peaceful area in droves following the killing of two soldiers on Saturday, March 2, Igbere Tv reports.
According to reports gathered by Igbere Tv, the soldiers who have been in the region since the February 23 general elections, were shot dead by masked gunmen while they also carted away their rifles.
The residents who have been filled with panic over what would be the militaries reaction to the community were seen leaving this morning.
Meanwhile, On Saturday, some women of Abonnema community staged a protest to condemn the killing of their children during the general elections held on February 23, Igbere Tv reports.
