Former Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida (Rtd.), has reacted to the outcome of the just-concluded presidential election in Nigeria Igbere TV reports.
Igbere TV reports that President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) defeated Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 23 presidential election.
INEC declared him winner having polled 15,191,847 votes as against Atiku’s 11,262,978 votes with a victory margin of 3,928,869 votes.
In a statement on Saturday, IBB congratulated the Nigerian electorate for conducting themselves peacefully during the voting process.
“Sadly, due to violence in some part of the country, lives were lost and I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to their families for the death of their loved ones”, he noted.
