Abia 2019: Ugwunagbo Receives “Message of Hope” as SDP Campaign Train Hits LGA (Photos)

Hon Dame Blessing Nwagba, Governorship Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the March 9 governorship election in Abia State, led other members of the SDP State Campaign council to the Local Government rally in Ugwunagbo LGA, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV gathered that the governorship candidate and her team were first received at the palace of HRH Eze Dr. Daniel Ogbulu, Eze Ugo 1 of Isimanu Obuzo Autonomous Community in Ugwunagbo LGA.

They were received by the Traditional Ruler, Prime Minister and some members of the King’s cabinet.

Nwagba thanked the traditional ruler for welcoming her and the team in his palace.

She said she had come to pay homage before addressing the party faithfuls who were waiting at the rally ground.

She informed the traditional ruler that she had come to complete the tenure of the people of Abia South.

“Since a man has done one term, it will be nice for a woman to do another term to complete the 8 years tenure of Abia South,” she said.

Nwagba added that her administration will pay salaries as at when due, and pay pensioners to bring accountability in governance.

Responding, the traditional ruler offered royal blessings for the governorship candidate and her team.

He prayed for the success of the governorship candidate in the forthcoming election, and wished her safety in all her journeys.

Igbere TV gathered that the traditional ruler, thereafter, requested for the campaign posters of the SDP’s governorship candidate.

At the campaign rally held at Ngwaiyiekwe Primary School, the campaign team led by the Director General, Hon Ikechi Osondu told the people of Ugwunagbo that the SDP has come to change the narrative in Abia State.

He went further to inform them that the Blessing administration will transform Abia State for it to be truly the first state not just in alphabetical order but in infrastructural developments.

He, thereafter, presented the party’s candidate for House of Assembly – Ugwunagbo state constituency, High Chief Lazarus Nnata (Onyeze) to the people.

He urged the people of Ugwunagbo to vote for their party’s candidates on the 9th of March.

Speaking, Hon Dame Blessing Nwagba thanked the people who came out in their numbers to receive and listen to the “message of hope” which the Social Democratic Party have for Ugwunagbo community.

She promised that, if elected, she will partner with the Federal Government to end the horizontal tapping of oil deposit in Ugwunagbo and ensure that Ugwunagbo becomes an oil producing community.

She reiterated the resolve of her administration to pay a minimum wage of N50,000 which acvoracco to her, will be paid on the 26th of every month.

She equally said that her administration will clear the arrears of pension owed the pensioners in the state and pay them as at when due.

She went further to assure the people that she will create employment opportunities through revolutionizing of the Agricultural sector and the revamping of the Moribund Industries.

She said that her administration will give women their rightful place in governance.

She, therefore, urged the people of Ugwunagbo to vote for SDP in the March 9 Governorship and State Assembly elections.
