There were tears of joy on 16/11/2017 as Alex Mascot Ikwechegh inspected the completed Igbere Secondary School office blocks and classrooms which the vibrant young leader through his foundation (Alex Ikwechegh Foundation) donated nothing less than N50, 000,000 (Fifty Million Naira) last year but have cost almost N100,000,000 (One Hundred Million Naira) after the renovation and construction kicked off.
Also not left out are the reconstruction of the first Igbere NEPA Office and the Igbere Cash Office. These offices now wear new looks of restored vibrancy. Also worthy of note is the fact that both the Igbere NEPA and Cash Offices were built and donated to the people of Igbere in 1989 by his parents – Chief & Lolo Mascot Ukandu Ikwechegh.
The vibrant young leader of noble generosity equally donated car to the church and buses to Igbere vigilante group to secure his people.
Mr Ikwechegh who was a former chairman of Aba North local government in Abia Sate at the age of 28 (the youngest person ever to hold such office) is a business mogul, a philanthropist was accompanied by Igbere council of Ndi Eze to inspect the completed blocks of Igbere Secondary School appreciated him for his kind gesture towards his people and vowed to support him.
Indeed, Alex Mascot Ikwechegh is one of the few young man who is ready to go to any length to make sure that his people do not suffer. There is no doubt that this young man, a philanthropist, a business mogul cum politician is imitating the good works of his father Chief Mascot Ukandu Ikwechegh whose memorial is scheduled to hold on 2nd January 2018.
