Abia North: PDP Rep Member Congratulates Kalu, Says He is People's & God's Choice

Honourable member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole, has congratulated the Senator-elect of Abia North Senatorial district, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, Igbere TV reports.

In a statement made available to Igbere TV Tuesday, Hon. Nkole said, “I congratulate the man God has chosen, the people have also made their choice, and that is the essence of democracy.”

“That he won should not be an issue. He is not for me, Uko Nkole, he is for Abia North, he is the senator representing Abia North, and that is what it remains, irrespective of party affiliation.”

Igbere TV gathered that Hon. Nkole, during an interaction with newsmen in his Abam country home, Arochukwu LGA of Abia, said the issue of INEC’s insistence on the card readers even in cases of the failure of card readers is unacceptable, as the use of card readers has not been made paramount in the electoral act.

Nkole who took time to appreciate the security agencies for their non-partisan approach to the election, promised also not to betray his constituents.

On the issue of working with a senator in an opposing party, he said, “politics stops after elections are over, then governance begins. All these things I did that warranted my reelection were done as a member of a party in opposition. So it is immaterial being an opposition member.”

The legislator also took his time to urge the people of Abia North and Abians in general to ensure the reelection of the governor of the state, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu.
