Few hours to the Presidential and National Assembly elections, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for tomorrow’s Abia North senatorial election , Senator Mao Ohuabunwa on Friday evening, escaped being lynched at Arochukwu local government Area of Abia State after he led a team of young youths suspected to be thugs to snatch sensitive INEC materials at the local government, Igbere TV has gathered.
Igbere TV reports that Ohuabunwa who arrived at the local government with three Hilux vehicles and three SUVs took the INEC officials and party agents by surprise when after greeting some persons suspected to be familiar to him aggressively moved towards the location of the sensitive materials with his youths .
According to eyewitnesses, the youths clothed in black suit took some of the materials and was about loading in their vehicles when the police and other security agents attached to the local government intercepted them .
At the time of filing this report , the amount of materials carted away was yet to be disclosed as Ohuabunwa and his team abandoned some of the materials and drove off to an unknown destination.
It is confirmed that police and other security agencies has shown huge intervention and is already on their trail for immediate arrest.
