The leader of a team of suspected hoodlums arrested on the eve of Saturday’s shifted general elections in Akwa Ibom, Uduak Ezekiel, has implicated one of the candidates for Ukanafun/ Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, of bankrolling their activities and revealed the amount of money he paid them for the ‘job’ they were hired to do, Igbere Tv reports.
The leader of the hoodlums, Ezekiel who made the allegation during interrogation at the Akwa Ibom State Command of the operatives in Uyo, said the House of Representatives Hopeful gave him an undisclosed sum of money to recruit the thugs.
“We were brought in from Ibadan in Oyo State and Port Harcourt in Rivers State,” he said.
During further investigation, Ezekiel also added that “the politician paid the sum of N5,000 to each of the hoodlums.”

Ezekiel, who denied claims by some of the thugs that they were brought to Akwa Ibom under the guise of attending a funeral before being nabbed by the security operatives said, “the were properly briefed on their mission,” Igbere Tv reports.
