The outspoken leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has said that democracy in Nigeria can not be guaranteed through the ballot box.

IGBERE TV had reported that Nnamdi Kanu who is currently in United Kingdom had announced Feburuay 16 as Biafra referendum, a date which collide with Nigerian presidential election.
Nnamdi Kanu in a tweet posted.:
Kanu wrote: “As long as Nigeria remain yoked to the 1999 Constitution written by half-baked Fulani military dictators, the benefits of Democracy can never be attained through the ballot box.
“This is an inescapable fact which even the most intellectually impoverished Nigerian cannot deny. “
