Ahead of this year’s general elections, the Coordinator and members of the steering committee (Lagos State) of the Directorate of Youth Mobilization of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council have commenced grassroots mobilization for the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Igbere TV gathered that the youths will embark on door to door campaign in order to enlighten the masses on Buhari’s achievements.
While unveiling its office in Omole, Lagos on Saturday, Coordinator of the committee, Kunle Oyewumi highlighted programmes lined up by the committee ahead of the presidential election.
Stressing that the Buhari-Osinbajo ticket is marketable, owing to the feat the federal government has achieved in the past four years, adding that beneficiaries of the NPower programme are mainly the youth.
He said, ” we decided to engage in door-to-door campaign to sensitize Nigerians on the achievements of the federal government in Lagos State and Nigeria in general.
” The President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government has infrastructural regeneration as a cardinal programme of its policy thrust and as such there is no part of the country that has not benefitted from this initiative.
“There are numerous ongoing and completed federal government projects in Lagos state including the rail project, construction of US $10m cancer treatment centre at LUTH, reconstruction of Apapa-TinCan-Mile 2-Oshodi-Oworonshoki expressway, electrification of Sura shopping complex (1,000 shops), rehabilitation of Lagos-Otta-Abeokuta road, ceding of presidential lodge in Marina to federal government.
” The APC led federal government will continue to live up to expectations by adhering to its ideals and leveraging on the tenets of democracy anchored on good governance, probity and accountability.
“We are working closely with various youth organizations and volunteer groups in a bid to ensure victory for President Muhammadu Buhari.
The coordinator, who expressed confidence in the membership of the steering committee in Lagos state, applauded the youth for sustaining their support for the federal government.
Oyewumi disclosed that the committee is mobilising 500,000 youths across the state for the presidential campaign scheduled to hold in Lagos on February 9.
The committee will hold a road-walk tagged ” FeBuhari Walk for the Next Level” on February 14 as part of its activities for valentine’s day ahead of the presidential election.
