Plot to assassinate the All Progressive Congress governorship candidate in Abia State, Dr. Samson Uche Ogah has been uncovered by a group, The Abia Youths For Change (AYC).
In a statement sent to Igbere TV by the Group’s Publicity Secretary, Iheanacho Egu, it said the assassins have planned two options.
“The first is to trail his taken off point at the Sam Mbakwe airport Owerri and assassinate him on his way in or out of the airport.”
“The second option is for them to trail the convoy in one of the LG’s tour Dr. Ogah will be making, cause trouble along the way, in the heat of the crisis, they will carry out their evil plans.”
The group also said that some aides to Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and the son of former Governor of Abia State, Chinedu Orji should be watched because they have agreed to bear the burden of the dirty job.
The statement reads in part:
“In a bid to hold back power at all cost in Abia, the Abia PDP are already gearing up for a last option.”
“Our source revealed that, there is a plan to eliminate Dr. Uche Ogah before the general election.”
“We can recall that there has been a publication of Ikpeazu’s meetings with some royal fathers in Abia where one of his aides suggested for an elimination option should incase Dr. Ogah refuses the cash inducement deal they were offering.”
“This time around, our source revealed that the assassins have planned this in two options.”
“The first is to trail his taken off point at the Sam Mbakwe airport Owerri and assassinate him on his way in or out of the airport.”
“The second option is for them to trail the convoy in one of the LG’s tour Dr. Ogah will be making, cause trouble along the way, in the heat of the crisis, they will carry out their evil plans.”
“We understand that their is no measure, a desperate person(s) won’t take when trying to achieve a goal, but going as low as plotting assassination against an opponent is a week man’s option.”
“The Ikpeazu PDP led government had 3 years to fix Abia, there is no excuse to their monumental failure in governance. The loosing of Abia by PDP was strictly the choice of Ikpeazu.”
“We have also written to the appropriate quotas and calling on the security agencies to watch the activities of the son of the former governor, Mr. Chinedu Orji, Mr. Erondu Junior Erondu and some close aides to Ikpeazu as they have agreed to bear the burden of the dirty jobs.”
“The era of cowardly acts in Nigerian political system is gone.”
Meanwhile, efforts by Igbere TV to get Chinedu Orji and former governor of Abia State to speak on the accusations proved abortive as text messages, calls to the them were not replied.
Also, calls and messages to some aides to Governor Ikpeazu were not replied.
