National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, says Nigeria will not allow external interference in its internal affairs, ahead of the 2019 general elections, Igbere TV reports.
Oshiomhole issued this warning on Tuesday in a reaction to a statement credited to the United States, United Kingdom and the European Union (EU) where they expressed concerns over the 2019 elections.
He spoke at the Enyinba township stadium, Aba, during the All Progressives Congress presidential campaigns held in Abia.
Igbere TV reports that the statement from these countries was in a reaction to the suspension of Walter Onnoghen as the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).
However, Oshiomhole, while speaking, said the country is not a colony and can stand on its own without interference in its affairs.
“Nigeria is not a colony. We will not accept any foreign interference in the internal affairs of Nigeria.”
He said that President Muhammadu Buhari is a man of integrity and would never interfere in the dealings of INEC, adding that INEC will deliver credible elections.
