FMC Umuahia Agog As Uzor Kalu Pays Unscheduled Visit (Photos)

UMUAHIA — In his unusual show of love and affection, the management, staff, patients and passersby at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Umuahia in the early hours of Saturday went into wide jubilation following the arrival of former governor of Abia state and APC flag bearer for Abia North senatorial district, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, Igbere TV can authoritatively report.

Igbere TV gathered that the business tycoon and Igbere-born politician stormed the hospital in the company of his aides, friends and political associates.

A close source who does not want to be named told Igbere TV that the convoy of the former governor was seen entering FMC as early as 9am from where he went straight to the office of the Chief Medical Director (CMD).

He was said to have spent at least 30 minutes with the CMD before being taken to a ‘special’ section by a Medical Consultant, Dr. Iheanacho for some medical examination.

An unprecedented crowd comprising of staff, patients and passersby however besieged the hospital within a few minutes of Kalu’s arrival to catch a glimpse of the face of the man who gave Abia state a face-lift.

The chant of “APC, everywhere you go!,” “Onwere weight (he has weight),” “Abuja direct,” “OUK come and change Abia, we are suffering” rented the air, bringing the day-to-day operations within the hospital to a halt as the hospital’s security men had difficult time controlling the crowd.

Igbere TV gathered that the Abia North Senator hopeful had difficulty carrying out his check up as the crowd kept increasing by the minute.

He later visited the various wards in the hospital to encourage the patients in his usual act of kindness and benevolence, and offset some hospital bills.
