Reports reaching IgbereTv has it that the Zimbabwean police officers have run for their lives as angry mob sets cars and police station on fire following a protest over government’s hike in fuel price,.
Remembered that it was reported over the weekend that Zimbabwe government announced a price of $3.11 per litre for diesel, and $3.33/L for gasoline.
Currently, gasoline in Zimbabwe is now the most expensive in the world, based on data gathered by IgbereTv newsmen from GlobalPetrolPrices. The site says Hong Kong had the highest price for a litre of gasoline on January 7: $2.04.
At least eight people were killed in Monday’s unrest during which security forces opened fire on crowds.
