BREAKING: Ex-Senate President, David Mark wins Benue South rerun election
Benue leaders urge David Mark to support Akume’s bid for Senate President
The Independent National Election Commission, INEC, hasdeclared former Senate President, David Mark winner of the February 20 Benue South Senatorial District re-run election.
The ex-senate president garnered a total of 84, 192 while his main contender, Daniel Onjeh polled 71, 621 votes.
Mark won in five local government areas while Onjeh won in four.
Announcing the result by 5.10am on Sunday, the returning officer, Prof. Ishaku Eneji declared Okpokpowulu k’Idoma winner with 84,192 votes against Dan Onjeh who polled a total of 71,621.
Senator Mark, a-two-time Senate President contested under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ) while Comrade Dan Onjeh, former NANS leader was of the All Progressives Congress ( APC ).
