2019 : Buhari's Victory Is Sacrosanct says Abia APC

As we approach the 2019 general elections, stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have blasted Abia State government for failing to deliver dividends of democracy to the people.

Speaking with a cross-section of journalists after a two-hour closed door meeting at the Igbere residence of former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu, Chairman of the party in Abia state, Hon. Donatus Nwankpa noted that the meeting was a right step in the right direction in a bid to ensure victory for the APC in the forthcoming general election.

President Muhammadu Buhari

Nwankpa said, ” we have been holding talks with stakeholders of our party in our efforts to have a victorious outing in the poll.

” The APC is the only political party that is built on the tenets of democracy and anchored on good governance.

” The federal government under the able leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari has executed more projects in the South East than any previous administration.
“There is an urgent need to send the PDP led state government in Abia packing for failing to make life meaningful for the people.

“Come February, the APC will come out victorious in the poll.

While expressing appreciation to the former governor for his unrelenting, unwavering and financial support for the party, Nwankpa thanked other stakeholders for sustaining Unity in the party.

Speaking on behalf of others, the trio of Sen. Chris Adighije (Chairman, Abia APC Caucus), Sen. Nkechi Nwaogu ( APC senatorial candidate, Abia central) and Chief Emeka Nwogu (former Minister for Labour and Productivity), maintained that the APC remains unbeatable in the race, stressing that Abia state government has inflicted pains on the people.
They said, “the time is now for Abians to vote for change.

The change that will correct the anomalies of the PDP.

” Abians have suffered enough and we shall no longer condone self aggrandizement and poor governance.

” Abia state must be liberated from the few individuals, who had been sharing the collective resources of the people for the past 10 years.

” President Muhammadu Buhari is a friend of Ndigbo and we are happy that the South East has witnessed more federal projects in his tenure than in the past.
“Abia State will soon be re-connected with the federal government”

The trio, stressed that the party’s governorship flag bearer, Dr. Uche Ogah, the Senatorial candidates for Abia North, Abia South and Abia Central, Dr. Orji Kalu, Chief Marc Wabara and Sen. Nkechi Nwaogu respectively and other APC candidates, will emerge winners in the general poll.
The party chieftains urged the federal government, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),

security agencies, the media, civil society organisations and other stakeholders to ensure a credible poll, adding that the 2015 general election in Abia State was marred by violence, intimidation, rigging and vote buying by the PDP.

The stakeholders equally noted that the level of popularity of the party in the South East and Nigeria at large is encouraging, adding that the party will not derail from its ideals.

The meeting had in attendance Dr. Orji Kalu, Dr. Uche Ogah, Rt. Hon. Martins Azubuike, Hon. Nkiru Onyejioka, Hon. Acho Obioma, Hon. Benedict Godson, Elder Onyema Obi, Barrister F. N Nwosu, Barrister K.C Ugboajah and Barrister Perfect Okorie.
