Following a report which circulated the media space yesterday that former governor of Abia State and a chieftain of All Progressive Congress, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, is dead, the Abia state chapter of APC has expressed disappointment over online story.
Speaking with Igbere TV on Monday, the state publicity secretary of the party, Comrade Benedict Godson appealed to the people he described as opposition to desist from this, affirming that Dr. Kalu is alive, hale and hearty. “They should stop this character assassination of a personality, our Senatorial candidate who is healthy, fine and has come back from Germany. I spoke with him this night. He’s in his house welcoming and chatting with friends.

“The opposition must know that this is not the rule of politics. This is not the way it should be and will not stop him from taking over Abia North in the 2019 election” he said.
He expressed anger that somebody who is alive, hale and hearty is being rumoured to have been dead, describing it as the height of desperation.
He appealed to all Abians and all Nigerians to ignore such rumour, insisting that the former governor is in good condition. Godson expressed optimism that Kalu will emerge victorious in the coming election as the Abia North senator.
