The economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC has revealed why they arrested the former governor of Abia State, Theodore Afamefula Orji and his son, Chinedum Orji.
The anti graft agency said the ex governor is being detained over his involvement in the diversion of over N27b disbursed to the state by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for Small and Medium Enterprise amongst other allegations.
A senior staff of the agency who spoke with Igbere TV on condition of anonymity said several choice properties running into billions of Naira were also traced to the ex governor, who is presently representing Abia central in the Senate and his son, Chinedum, a member of Abia State House of Assembly.
Igbere Tv broke the News earlier today of the arrest and detention of the former governor, his son and two bank managers who were implicated in the multi billion Naira fraud.
Igbere Tv learnt that they have been in EFCC detention for two days now and may not be going home soon.
