Today at the Government House Pavillon in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State Governor, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi has swear – in two new Commissioners, Chief of Staff and the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
Just last week, it was reported throughout in the State Media and beyond how the new appointees went through their formal screening and clearance on the floor of the Ekiti State House of Assembly thereby confirming them as Commissioner’s and Aides of the second term Governor of the State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi. Those officially screened and confirmed by the State House of Assembly included the Barrister Wale Fapohunda as the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General and Mr. Dapo Kolawole as the Commissioner for Finance. Others are Mr. Biodun Oyebanji as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Mr. Biodun Omoleye as the Chief of Staff (COS) to the Governor. The appointment of Mr. Yinka Oyebode was also made as the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor.
Performing the swearing – in ceremony of the new Commissioners, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and that of the Chief of Staff (COS), the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi promised and pledged to focus his second term in office on the Knowledge Economy, Social Investments, Infrastructure and Industrial Development as well as Agriculture and Rural Development of the State. He affirmed his continued assurance and total commitment to the people of the State to maintain his good name, integrity, transparency and accountability in governing the State for a second term in office. He promised to also take care of every tendencies within the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the State most especially those from the South Senatorial District.
The Governor, “Dr. Kayode Fayemi has equally directed all the new appointees to swing into action immediately as there are no time to waste as the people of the State who have been yearning and impatient are in haste to benefit from his administration. He use the opportunity of the swearing – in to seek for the total cooperation and commitment of the new appointees in reclaiming the Ekiti land and restoring its lost values”.
Governor Fayemi speaking further, “advises the new appointees not to disappoint him and told them to be transparent, diligent, hardworking and committed. He told those present at the swearing – in ceremony to see appointing people into positions as a continuous exercise. He informed the people that both Women and Muslims are going to be appointed very soon”.
Appreciating the Governor on behalf of the appointees, the new Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyeleye thanked the Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, his wife, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, the Deputy Governor, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi and the APC Party Leaders in the State for the honour done on them with the Appointments. He pledged on behalf of other appointees not to disappoint the Governor and the people of the State that gave them the mandate to serve them.
