Following a report made yesterday by Igbere TV that the Nigerian army deployed troops at National Assembly to stop the shitte group from protesting for the release of its leader, Shaikh Zakzaky, the group has released a statement about the scheduled protest.
The group in a statement signed by S. I Ahmed and made available to Igbere TV denied the allegation of invading the National Assembly.

The statement reads,
“Our attention has been drawn on a press release signed by Captain HT TAGWAI dated 25 October, 2018 stating that the reason behind presence of Military personnel at the Three Arm Zone is “based on an intelligence report of an invasion by the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (aka Shiite) to force their way into the Zone”.
“We categorically reject the baseless allegation and unintelligent report that the brothers of the Islamic movement under the leadership of His Eminence, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H) planned to invade the Three Arm Zone. ”
” HT TAGWAI should please note that the public and occupants of the Three Arm Zone are fully aware with the protest being conducted by the followers of Shaikh Zakzaky (H), which is purposely to demand for unconditional release of Sheikh Zakzaky (H) and his wife; and also to remind the world about the tyrannical attack carried out by the Nigerian Army in 2015 at religious centres and resident of Sheikh Zakzaky (H) in Zaria that led to the killing of more than 1,000 unarmed Nigerian citizens.”
“It is pertinent to state that in several occasions letters were submitted by the Free Zakzaky protesters to the National Assembly and the Presidency; and sometimes members of both lower and upper chambers of the National Assembly have come out and address the protesters.”
“The people of this country and International community have earlier witnessed the invasion of the National Assembly by Department of State Service (DSS) and now Military also did the same thing. We are calling for independent investigation into the invasion of the Three Arm Zone by the Military personnel.”
“Due to the fact that the 2015 Zaria massacre was based on baseless allegations, we are seeing the present baseless allegations by Captain HT TAGWAI as another plan by the Military to attack Free Zakzaky protesters.”
“We would continue to protest and our demand is simple that is immediate and unconditional release of Sheikh Zakzaky (H) and his wife from the tyrannical ,illegal and unconstitutional detention.”
