See What Happened To Libya Coach Who Accused Super Eagle Of Using “Juju” To Play Games
Report reaching IGBERE TV says that Adel Amrouche has resigned as head coach of the Libyan team ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria on Saturday.
Amrouche, who replaced Omar Al-Maryamiâs in May, quit his job after going six months without his salary being paid.
According to Alwasat.ly, a Libyan online news outlet, Al-Maryami will lead the Mediterranean Knights out against Nigeria in Uyo.
Al-Maryami has already taken charge of the teamâs training in Tunisia following the sudden exit of Amrouche.
Libya top Group E with four points, while South Africa are second and Nigeria lie third.
The Libyan Football Federation (LFF) confirmed on Monday that a 54-man delegation comprising players, technical crew, backroom staff and LFF officials will fly into Ibom International Airport, Uyo, on Thursday.
The second leg of the tie will be played in Tunisia.
Amrouche was blasted after saying Super Eagles team rely on voodoo to win games, while his team rely on God.
âBelieve me I prefer to play Nigeria than South Africa because I have the experience to play against them. South Africa is a fantastic team and have fantastic players and itâs not easy to play against them.
âFor me, Iâm ready for Nigeria; if they want we can play both games in Nigeria; they believe in juju and we believe in God,â Amrouche said.
