Three pupils of Bright Star Academy, Umuahia, Master Okezie John Levi, Master Ogbonna Ebereukwu and Miss Onyibor Victoria Onurah have received cheques for their outstanding performance at the maiden edition of Abia Breaking News scholarship programme.
The scholarship was part of programmes to mark the 2018 birthday celebration of Abia Breaking News director, Ifeanyi Okali, who had on June 12, promised to award scholarship to three outstanding pupils in the school.
Presenting cheques to the three pupils, the director, Abia Breaking News, Comrade Ifeanyi Okali said the gesture was borne out of the love he has for children, pointing out that the programme will be done yearly.
He said,” my passion for kids is what propels me towards investing in their future because they the leaders of tomorrow. A President or a governor may be among these kids you are seeing now.
” I celebrated my birthday with them in the month of June and promised to pay the School fees of three pupils that would take the first position in their last promotional examination that’s what I came to fulfill today”.
“I love children a lot So whatever in my capacity I can do to make them become hat God has destined them to be, I wouldn’t hesitate to to it and by God’s grace, it will be yearly event.”
The kids thanked the donor for the gesture and promised to put in their best to maintain their top spots, while the parents who were there to receive the cheques prayed that God will grant him his heart desires and give him the grace to do more.
The Head of School, Bright Star Academy, Mrs Ogbonna Eberechukwu said “I commend Okali for encouraging the pupils in the School. She said that the school management and staff would strife to be impacting knowledge to theirs pupils to prepare them for the future.
Recall that on June 12 as part of events to mark Comrade Ifeanyi Okali’s birthday, Abia Breaking News crew took a trip to Enugu where they visited the mother of late Super Eagles midfielder, Samuel Okwaraji who died from congestive heart failure on August 12, 1989, while playing for Nigeria against Angola in 1990 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Lagos.
