The statement reads in part,

“It has come to the notice of the elders of Bende Federal Constituency over an alleged plot to withdraw Dr. Chima Desmond Anyaso People’s Democratic Party ticket.

“We the elders believe that this is just a joke which has been taken too far considering the fact that those plotting the withdrawal of Anyaso’s ticket want to cause unnecessary tension and wreck our constituency.”

“Let us make it clear that the elders of Bende have decided to throw our weights behind Anyaso and nothing will make us change our trust and support for him.”

Igbere TV had reported that there is tension in Bende federal constituency over alleged plot by Abia state People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to withdraw Dr. Chima Anyaso ticket.

An insider revealed to Igbere TV that Abia state PDP are under pressure to return the party’s ticket, (through the back door) to reps members who lost at the Primaries.

Igbere TV also reported of moves by Nnenna Ukeje , through her mother, Justice Rose Ukeje, a former Chief Judge in Federal High Court, to illegally snatch Chima Anyaso’s ticket using the 35% affirmative action for women.
