Ekiti APC inaugurates new Executives after years of retaining same officers.

The All Progressive Congress, Ekiti State Chapter has inaugurated new sets of Party Executives of the State after several years of retaining Chief Olajide Awe led Executive Committee to steer the ship of the Party. It will be recalled that Chief Olajide Awe has been the Chairman of the Progressive Political Party politics since the time of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and now, the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State on Saturday 15th of September 2018 inaugurated 35 members as the State Executives Committee.

The newly constituted Executives members are expected to steer the ship of the party for another four years. They were inaugurated by a 7-man Committee on Ekiti State Congress, ably supported by the Local Organising Committee headed the Ekiti State Deputy Governor- Elect, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi.

The inauguration, which was well-attended by stakeholders/delegates, was presided over by the former Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmad Mohammad. The motion for the affirmation of the new Executives was moved by Senator Ayo Arise and seconded by a former Minister of State for Works, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, after which a voice vote of all in attendance were taken.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected State Chairman, Barrister Paul Omotoso, who spoke on behalf of other Executives, promised to work for the unity and progress of the Party in the State. He also seized the opportunity to assure all party members of his commitment to uphold the principles of rule of law and manifestos of the All Progress Congress. Barrister Paul Omotoso was formerly the State Secretary of the Party during the Chief Olajide Awe’s led Executive Committee.

The Congress Committee members as delegated by the National Secretariat of APC has the former Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Ahmad Muhammad as Chairman and Chris Wingwe as his Secretary. Others are Rt. Honourable Revd. Aderoboye Samuel, Rt. Honourable Ali Othman Babagana and Barrister Chima Okafor.

The representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission was also on ground to monitor the process, which went smoothly without any rancour.
