Man 23yrs who robs in Army camouflage has landed in trouble after an encounter with men of Ogun police command
The suspect, Adeoye Ayomide was, according to Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, arrested around 8:00pm on Tuesday, September 25 on Ofada Road, Mowe.
Oyeyemi stated in a press release that Ayomide and his other members of the syndicate, now at large, had on September 13, attacked a retired soldier and robbed him of, #86,000, using broken bottle as their weapon.
Victim of the said attack, Adeyemo Adegboyega, promptly lodged a complaint at Mowe Divisional Headquarters of the police, following which the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Francis Ebuhoma, detailed his operatives to be on the trail of the hoodlums.
“Their efforts paid off on Tuesday, when the operatives received information that the gangsters had been sighted around Mowe. Upon the information, the operatives swiftly swung into action, by chasing them. They, however, succeeded in nabbing Ayomide in full Army uniform”, the PPRO stated, adding that a search warrant was duly executed in his house, leading to the discovery
and recovery of an additional fake Army uniform.
The state police image maker further said that the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squard (FSARS), Abeokuta, 23-YEAR OLDfor discreet investigation and arrest of other members of the gang.
