Bauchi State Command of the Nigerian Police, has presented One Million, Nine Hundred Naira (N1, 900, 000) Cheques to 17 next-of-kin and families of officers and men of the command who died while in active service.
The Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, HalliruGwandu, stated this during a brief ceremony at the command’s headquarters in the state on Tuesday.
Gwandusaid the presentation of the cheques was in compliance with the directive of the Inspector General of Police, that the welfare insurance package be released immediately to the families of the deceased.
“This ceremony is in compliance with the directive of the Inspector General of Police that this welfare should be given to the next of kin or families of gal
lant heroes who lost their lives while in active service.
“The Police deemed it fit to acknowledge the roles these officers and men of the force played so that their efforts will not be in vain.
