A House of Representatives aspirant for Bende federal constituency under the platform of APC, Barr. Benjamin Kalu has assured his people of an open, accessible and accountable representation when he is elected in the 2019 general elections.

Speaking to newsmen after filling his nomination form in his country home in Bende local government area, in company of hundreds of his constituents who had welcomed him, Kalu promised that he will not fail his people but will live up to the confidence reposed on him.
In his words,
“I will never fail my people, these are my people and I am doing this for them. They are in need of a true representative, somebody who cares for them, somebody who understands their need, one of them, I am not from outside thrown on them, I grew up here, they saw me growing up, and the yearning still remains in their hearts to have a good representative that will take their needs beyond Abia state to Abuja to bring the dividends of democracy which is what they’ve been longing for since the Democratic dispensation in Nigeria.
“Believe me, I am committed to this fight for proper representation, I am given to it, I have sacrificed a lot for very long number of years to make sure I get to this point and we will bring this victory home and I will give to them an accessible and acceptable representation, one that they can analyse and ask for accountability.”
“My door has been open for the past 16 years, it will not be shut now that they are sending me to Abuja, it will remain open.”
“There will be a constituency office, and they will know the date that I will come in to embrace them and to relate with them. Both for Bende north and south.”
The renowned philanthropist also said that the crowd that besieged him suggested full acceptance and their resolve to be part of history.
“The impression is full acceptance of this long awaited victory that we’re expecting. It starts from today, bringing the form home and having this great men and women welcome me with this form shows a sign of what is to come, a sign that it’s the beginning of my trip to Abuja to represent them has started.
“And they are here to nominate me. They want to be part of the history that is about to be made. They want to do it themselves, that is why they are here” Kalu explained.”
He advised them not to be swayed by propaganda and money but keep faith in him, assuring that he will not fail them.
Barr. Kalu called on his people to remain steadfast, stressing that having been committed and sacrificing for these long, money hasn’t bought them, no amount of the opposition has removed them from their position, so I’m asking them to keep on keeping on.
No amount of money and propaganda should buy them, they have gotten this far to take the trophy and should look back, because the Bible says “No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
These ones are fit for the kingdom and that is why they will not look back and because they will not look back.”
