Udensi made the statement while declaring his intention to run as Abia state governor in the 2019 general elections.
Igbere TV correspondent who witnessed the event reports that the grand declaration took place at the prestigious Ngwa High School.
While addressing the mammoth crowd, Sir Udensi who first berated the state government’s complacency that caused 97 Abians to be killed during the Military Operation Python Dance exercise in the state, directed a one minute silence in honour of the slain souls.
In his words,
“I want us to observe one minute silence for our 97 brothers and sisters who were killed during the operation Python Dance in this state. These people were killed for nothing. They had no weapons but were killed because of Abia State government’s inability to settle the issue amicably “
“I want assure you people that if given an opportunity to govern this great state, I will bring my experience as a security expert that I am and tackle insecurity in the state and this will in turn allow investors to come and invest in our state which was once a renowned commercial state”
“I want assure you all here that that the APGA will defend its votes this time around, and PDP should start preparing their handover note for me. I am the best governor for Abia state.”
“Look at how pensioners are dying every day, workers are not being paid. If I elected, the issue of owning workers will be a thing of the past, I will make sure workers, pensioners are being paid every month “
Also, On the rumours making the rounds that he is being sponsored by the PDP, Udensi debunked the rumours.
According to him,
“Can PDP buy me? Can they even pay salaries? I urge you all to get your PVCs, PVC means Please Vote Chikwe. I have been in APGA for many years, in fact I supported the growth of this party financially, so, how do you think I will be working for PDP that has failed? No, it is not possible “
“I won’t spend my time responding to every idiot saying nonsense, let me assure you I, Chikwe Udensi has put myself forward for the office of the governor and will not disappoint you.”
Igbere TV reports that APGA national leader, state and local government leaders and other prominent APGA members from the 17 local government area were attendance during the declaration.
