Visiting former United States President Barrack Obama on Sunday elevated his elder half-sister Auma Obama during his meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The ex-world’s most powerful man touched down in Nairobi as a private citizen shortly after midday.
He then proceeded to the Nairobi Statehouse where he was received by Deputy President William Ruto.
He then held talks with the Head of State in the presence of Auma who was present all through, a confirmation of the trust and love he has for the sister.
An almost similar scenario was evident when he rode with her in his presidential limousine dubbed the ‘beast’ in his last tour as President.
Obama later held similar talks with opposition leader Raila Odinga at the Villa Rosa Kempinski Hotel and is set to travel to Kisumu county on his way to his Kogelo backyard in Siaya county on Monday.
In Kogelo, Obama who is accompanied by an entourage of about 100 officials is set to launch a number of projects initiated by Auma before leaving for South Africa for a 4 day tour.
In South Africa, he will deliver the annual Nelson Mandela lecture.
This is his fifth tour of the nation and the first as former President.
