Wilfred Ndidi insists he wants to stay at Leicester as the club prepare to offer the World Cup star an improved contract. The Nigerian international moved to the King Power last January in a £15million deal from Genk.
Ndidi, 21, has since gone on to become one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League and transferred his fine form on to the global stage this summer for his country in Russia.
That led to interest from Arsenal and Premier League rivals Liverpool were also linked with the ace.
However, The Telegraph claim Leicester are set to try and secure the youngster’s long-term future by rewarding him with a pay rise.
And they will be buoyed by Ndidi’s latest comments as he denied contemplating a move elsewhere.
He was quoted as saying: “A transfer has never been on my mind, I feel very good at Leicester.”
Despite Nigeria’s elimination at the group stage, Ndidi’s 15 tackles during his nation’s three matches is still the joint-second overall at the tournament.
Ndidi has also spoken of his commitment to the Foxes before when he reports emerged last summer that included quotes from someone claiming to be his agent which said the midfielder was keen on making a move to Manchester United.
He immediately contacted City to tell them it was not true before writing on Twitter: “Please be informed this information is not true, I’m 200 per cent with Leicester and I don’t know this person.”
