A man has allegedly been killed by operatives of Cross River State Homeland Security Service. It was gathered that the deceased identified as Efiom Etim Efiom popularly called Etete, was shot dead at his residence in Calabar, the state capital. The incident occurred yesterday Friday, July 13, 2018.
According to Holyns Hogan, a reliable source and brother to the deceased informed that prior to that moment of the incident he invited his lawyer and the police to obtain statement from his late brother, over an issue that happened between him and one unregistered Keke rider at the Esien Town Keke Tricycle Park, located at Essien Town by Murtalah Mohammed Highway, Calabar.
Another reliable source and eye witness accounted that the deceased and “his boys beat and injured” the affected Keke rider the day before “for refusing to officially register with the Keke Union at the park” . That led to the involvement of the Homeland Security Service men, whose attached Soldier eventually shot and killed Etete in public.
Investigations are said to be underway over Etete’s death.
