Kano State morality police, Hisbah Board, says it has commenced an investigation into the viral audio clips of some lesbians purportedly from Kano state, who washed their dirty linens outside over alleged snatching of partners.
DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the audio clips which surface on the social media, recorded ladies attacking each other using vulgar words and boasting over having had sexual affairs between themselves, a development that raised eyebrows within the state security agencies.
It was also gathered that the ladies involved in the purported lesbianism audio clips are believed to be children of some highly placed people in the state.
To this end, the Assistant Commander General, ACG, Intelligence and Criminal Dispatch unit of the board, Idris Ibn-Umar told DAILY NIGERIAN that after having got the clip a week ago, his agency had launched an investigation into the matter.
Mr Ibn-Umar added the investigation being carried out by his unit, in collaboration with other security agencies in the state, was yielding fruits.
According to him, the command got the information by its men of intelligence and surveillance, adding that the probe has been intensified.
“We have got the audio and we are probing it with the help of other security agencies. We started the investigation immediately after we got the clip from our men of surveillance and intelligence unit.
“We will continue to study the veracity of the audio clip and if it turns out to be true, the perpetrators shall face the wrath of the law.
“I don’t want to divulge our operations but I am telling you that our investigation is being successful so far,” Mr Ibn-Umar said.
He added that the security agencies were working hard to trace the location where the audio clip was recorded, as well as unearthing other facts at their disposal.
