The war over land between the people of Ukele in Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State and Izzi in Ebonyi State, resumed again on Wednesday, following an alleged gun attack.
According to reports, the war started at Ipulo village when the villagers were retuning from a meeting on Wednesday evening leaving many people with gunshot wounds .
Our correspondent gathered that the people of Ukele blocked a federal highway, stopping vehicles and killing people they alleged to be from Izzi community.
Also, yesterday at about 4:30pm, about 8 persons who were shot by the Ukele people were rushed to St-Vincent Hospital Ndubia. One person was reportedly shot dead.
Those travelling to Cross River or Akwa Ibom should be careful while passing through Ogoja – Abakaliki road.
