President Muhammadu Buhari has sent the name of former Inspector-General of Police, Musiliu Smith to the Senate for confirmation as Chairman of the Police Service Commission.

This was disclosed by President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, on Thursday.

Saraki read the letter from Buhari at the plenary after which he sought legislative confirmation of the appointment as well as members of the commission

Smith is to succeed former IGP, Mike Okiro.
