Following the successful Abia APC state congress that produce Hon.Donatus Nwankpa as the state chairman , an aspirant for Bende Federal Constituency under the party Chief Bar.Benjamin Kalu has thrown his weight behind the newly elected state chairman and his executives .
In a statement made available to IGBERE TV Sunday morning, he thanked the Abia state APC for their successful congress and head of the national delegates led by Sen. Jonathan Zwingina noting that with this success that APC Abia state is now positioned for greater glory and victory in the gubernatorial race of the state .
He also congratulated the wards , local government and state excos on their success in APC Abia state congress.
The statement reads in full:
“I, Chief (Barr) Benjamin Kalu on behalf of the good people of Bende heartily felicitate with the new exco of our party in the state led by Hon. Donatus Nwankpa for their successful emergence as the new face of our party leadership in God’s own state”.
“The successful congress has no doubt opened a new chapter in what Abians should expect in coming days. The rancour-free and chaos-free environment under which this all important exercise took place is a clear manifestation that the horizon of our pro-democratic culture has continued to broaden. Our aspirants for various elective positions will likewise emerge peacefully and successfully”.
“The 5 five man congress committee led by Sen. Jonathan Zwingina are men of strong reputation and high moral standard. I commend them for allowing the mill of the people’s choice grind freely, transparently and openly without any interferrence from any quarter. They have indeed carved their names in sands of time”.

Igbere TV recalls that The All Progressives Congress (APC) Abia state chapter on Saturday held a peaceful state congress at Umuahia Township Stadium.
The congress which attracted 1,150 delegates across the 17 local government areas of the state was supervised by the five man committee led by Sen. Jonathan Zwingina. The congress saw Hon. Donatus Nwankpa emerging as the chairman, Chief Ogumka Adiele (Deputy chairman), Perfect Okorie Secretary, Comrade Godson, Offor Okorie, State Auditor, Dr. Mrs. Ori Obasi, state woman leader among others through a voice vote.
