Dino Melaye, senator representing Kogi west, has mocked the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the outcome of the state congresses.
The exercise, which held on Saturday, was characterised by irregularities as parallel congresses held in over seven states while suspected thugs broke into some venues and chased out party members and delegates.
In a tweet on Saturday night, Melaye taunted the party saying it is now blessed with 72 state chairmen, implying that each state elected two leaders.
“Congratulations to the 72 new state chairmen of APC. Every where na double double. What a blessed party,” the senator tweeted.
Melaye, a member of the APC, is currently having a running battle with the police over alleged gun running.
He has denied the allegations levelled against him and accused Yahaya Bello, governor of Kogi state, of being behind his travail.
Bello is also a member of the ruling party.
