Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, has insisted that his approach to Saturday’s FA Cup final, will not depend on if Romelu Lukaku starts or not for Manchester United.
Lukaku is fighting to overcome an ankle injury on time for the Saturday’s match at Wembley.
On Friday, United boss, Jose Mourinho stated that he would give the Belgium international “until the last moment” to prove his fitness.
Conte is, however, expecting a difficult challenge from United regardless of whether Lukaku is ready to play or not.
“We are talking about an important player but, as you know, Manchester United have the possibility to pick many important players,” Conte said.
“I don’t know what the decision is for tomorrow but, for sure, if Lukaku doesn’t play, there are great players to play instead of him.
“We don’t change, because you don’t change your plan or prepare your plan for one player. You prepare your plan for the whole team. If Lukaku is not playing, that means they have another important striker, [Marcus] Rashford for example, who could play.”
