Combat ready policemen have laid siege to the Sangha Street , Maitama, Abuja residence of Senator Dino Melaye .
Melaye had in a hushed tone notified our correspondent of the siege on the telephone at 1 :43 pm .
The security operatives blocked the street with a Toyota Hiace bus with tinted glass and Plate Number RSH 193 TP on one end , and a pickup van at the other end .
They had prevented those in the building from exiting but later allowed family members , friends and guest to enter and exit the premises .
Men of the Nigerian Immigration Service had earlier in the day arrested and detained the senator at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja on his way to Morocco .
