Buhari’s Minister Decries Menace Of Fulani Herdsmen

The minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Chief Audu Ogbeh has vehemently and unequivocally rebuked and condemned the menace of the fulani herdsmen in the country.

Chief Ogbeh in his closing speech at the on-going Ogun state Investors Forum lamented and decried the devastative effect of the activities of the fulani herdsmen who have continued with absolute impunity to ravage and destroy farmlands in some certain areas of the country.

He also vilified the height of these attackers who kill and decimate the farmers if they dare contest or resist destruction of their farmlands.

The Minister who through out the event wore stern face as one that’s having a sober reflection, went ahead to say that these acts of lawlessness pose a serious threat to the plan of the government to take the nation out of food-import dependence.

In his initial speech at the event organised by the Ogun state government and its agricultural commission, the minister affirmed that the present government had inherited and analysed the Agricultural program set up by their predecessors and had improved on it.

Chief Ogbeh also stated that in the stead of discarding the agricultural program set up by the former government of Goodluck Jonathan, the present government had decided to improve on it. “and that has yielded amazing positive result”, he said.

He revealed that Nigeria has now been able to export Hibiscus flower thereby wrecking in millions of dollars just in one year alone. “Who would have imagined that?”, he said.

Other invited guests and speakers at the event included the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun, former president of Mexico, Mexican investors as well as Nigerian investors.
