THE MEDIOCRITY IN CELEBRATING AN INCOMPLETE ONE LANE FLYOVER IN ABIA STATE

Are we so backward in Abia State to a point where an incomplete one lane flyover has become a source of celebration for some people.

Has it gotten so bad that supposed literates will be brandishing a 40% complete job and celebrating as though it is 100%?

What will Ebonyi, Anambra, Akwa Ibom, Kano indigenes think of us being that their governors have delivered complete flyovers without noise.

Can we please stop embarrassing ourselves online, Abians are now very much politically aware than before.

I was in a keke on Monday in Umuahia, fortunately the keke had a radio and it was tuned to BCA, the programme had a break and a jingle started playing.

This jingle was listing jobs that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has executed and it named Osisioma Flyover, the keke rider quickly interjected and said in Igbo language (translation) “why are they naming incomplete projects as complete projects, that flyover is not complete and I don’t even see Ikpeazu completing it” he said.

That immediately made me understand that Abians are fully aware and can’t be deceived.

I encourage Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to keep up with the flyover job, I pray he completes it as soon as possible because any attempt to abandon that job will create a big disaster at Osisioma junction, though Abians are already suffering there.

Secondly, the safety measures there is so bad, the uncompleted job is not barricaded, thereby exposing Abians to high risk of unforeseen incident.

I know his media aides will attack me for this, but as a media man I am sold out to speaking the truth always no matter who it hurts.

Ndewo.
