AGAIN! OBIGBO IPOB WOMEN WING DONATES FOOD AND OTHER ITEMS, VISITS PORT HARCOURT PRISONS

The women wing of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Rivers state chapter, under the able and supreme leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, living true to it’s motherly responsibilities, has once again, exhibited practical love, care and concern for her own. This gesture was carried out during their visit to Biafran detainees in Port Harcourt Prisons who have been illegitimately incarcerated by the Nigerian government for rightfully aligning with their brothers and sisters, demanding for self-determination.

The women on the visit, donated various food items and wears amongst others. Collaborating the efforts of the leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), both in the detainees’ overall welfare and eventual release from prison custody, the Obigbo IPOB women have on several occasions staged street awareness protests to drive home their demands for the unconditional and immediate release of the brethren.

Mrs. Ngozi Mmaduagwu who spoke to Family Writers Press, gave the revelation that some of our incarcerated brethren in the prison, were forcefully abducted by the agents of the Nigerian government from their homes, offices, workshops and while on their ways to places of work. Their only offence she pointed out, was their tacit support for the agitation for the full restoration of the sovereign state of Biafra. Mrs. Mmaduagwu re-echoed the fact that self-determination is an inalienable right of individuals and never a crime under any known civilized law. “I see no rationality behind any sane policy of a government, killing, maiming, abducting and incarcerating people for are peaceably demanding for their self-determination and referendum.

Speaking further, the Obigbo IPOB women coordinator – Mrs. Chikezie M. Nkeiruka, said “we have been doing this for a long time now. This is not the first and will certainly not be the last. We had before now, embarked on series of protests for their release from detention. We cannot abandon them. They are our children and our husbands. Our routine visits to them is our responsibility which will never be compromised. We must make sure that they are not in lack”.

And like my sister earlier pointed out, self-determination is not a crime. It is a right of every individual. The Nigerian government should release our children and husbands to us. They should allow us conduct our referendum and peacefully exit this “forced and unproductive union” called Nigeria, she further stated.
