Kano Sstate Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on Wednesday met with Igbo leaders in Kano.
According to Ganduje’s DG Media & Communications, Salihu Tanko Yakasai, the meeting was to assure them of his administration’s commitment to peace and stability in the state.
“H.E @GovUmarGanduje just finished a meeting with Igbo leaders in Kano to reassure them of his admins commitment to peace/stability in Kano,” Yakassi tweeted alongside several images from the meeting.
This came amid tension between Igbos and Northerners, especially in the South East.
A video of armed members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), searching for Hausas in buses in the South-East, has surfaced online.
In the clip, they are seen armed and looking into the buses in search of Hausas.
Recall that some Arewa Youth had issued a quit notice to Igbos living in the north, before withdrawing it later.
IPOB members also clashed with the Hausa community in Rivers State on Tuesday.
