Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has responded to the stand of civil society groups that are staging a protest in Abuja.
He said their demands were alien to the laws of the country.
In a statement on Saturday, the groups made it known that entertainer and activist, Charlyboy, would lead a protest to demand that Buhari resumes office or resigns.
But speaking on Sunday Politics, a programme on Channels Television, Adesina said the President would only return when his doctors give him the go-ahead.
Asked if the President would comply with the demands of the group, he said: “Well, the President would always do what is legal and constitutional. What they are asking for is not known to our laws.
“The President will stand by our laws at all times. He will uphold the laws, he will protect them.”
